Hyderabad Police Launch ‘She Netra’ Teams to Detect Hidden Cameras, Strengthen Women’s Safety

In a major initiative aimed at enhancing women’s safety and protecting personal privacy, the Hyderabad City Police have launched specialized ‘She Netra’ teams to identify and curb the misuse of hidden cameras in public and private spaces across the city.

The initiative was formally introduced by Hyderabad Police Commissioner C.V. Anand and senior officials, marking a proactive move to address growing concerns over unlawful surveillance and privacy violations.

According to officials, seven dedicated She Netra teams have been deployed initially. These teams are equipped with advanced technology to detect concealed cameras installed in locations such as hotels, hostels, paying guest accommodations, changing rooms, washrooms, and other sensitive areas.

The police said the teams will carry out regular inspections, surprise raids, and complaint-based checks to ensure that establishments comply with privacy and safety norms.

Speaking on the occasion, officials emphasized that the department is combining modern surveillance-detection tools with strong field enforcement to create safer environments for women and the general public.

Authorities also warned that strict legal action will be taken against individuals or organizations found installing or using hidden cameras illegally.

As part of the new safety framework, businesses and institutions have been instructed to strengthen internal monitoring systems, conduct periodic inspections, and immediately report suspicious devices or privacy breaches to the police.

The Hyderabad City Police urged citizens to remain vigilant and report any concerns, stating that the She Netra initiative reflects the department’s commitment to safeguarding dignity, privacy, and security in urban spaces.

Hyderabad Police Commissioner Sajjanar has issued a strong warning to women to remain cautious until they get married, amid rising cases of marriage-related frauds in the city.

He stated that fraudsters are increasingly targeting women under the pretext of marriage, not only in love marriages but also in arranged alliances finalized by families. According to him, several complaints related to such incidents have recently been received by the police.

The accused often follow traditional customs like bride-viewing ceremonies and engagements to gain trust. Once the marriage is considered confirmed, they emotionally manipulate the women, coerce them into physical relationships, and later reveal their true intentions.

After fulfilling their demands, the fraudsters allegedly demand large sums of money or additional dowry, threatening to cancel the marriage if their demands are not met. Fear of social stigma and loss of reputation after engagement often prevents victims and their families from coming forward, which the offenders exploit further.

Commissioner Sajjanar urged women not to blindly trust even arranged proposals and advised them to carefully observe the groom’s behavior, habits, and social circle. He emphasized that any pressure for physical intimacy or private meetings before marriage should be treated as a serious red flag.

He assured that victims should not fear blackmail or monetary demands and must report such cases immediately. The identity of complainants will be kept strictly confidential.

ప్రేమ పెళ్లిళ్లే కాకుండా పెద్దలు కుదిర్చిన వివాహాల మాటున కూడా మోసాలు జరుగుతున్నాయని ఆయన ఆందోళన వ్యక్తం చేశారు. పెళ్లి చూపులు, నిశ్చితార్థం పూర్తయ్యాక పెళ్లి ఖాయమైందన్న చనువుతో యువతులకు దగ్గరవుతున్నారని, ఆ తర్వాత ఎమోషనల్ బ్లాక్‌మెయిల్ చేసి శారీరకంగా లోబరుచుకుంటున్నారని వెల్లడించారు.

తీరా తమ ఉద్దేశం నెరవేరిన తర్వాత భారీగా డబ్బులు డిమాండ్ చేయడం, అదనపు కట్నం ఇవ్వకపోతే పెళ్లి రద్దు చేస్తామని బెదిరింపులకు దిగుతున్నారని తెలిపారు. నిశ్చితార్థం జరిగిపోయి సమాజానికి విషయం తెలిసిపోవడంతో పరువు పోతుందనే భయంతో చాలా మంది ఫిర్యాదు చేయడానికి వెనుకాడుతున్నారని, ఇదే మోసగాళ్లకు అవకాశంగా మారుతోందని సజ్జనార్ పేర్కొన్నారు.

పెళ్లి పీటలు ఎక్కేవరకు అప్రమత్తంగా ఉండాలని, పెద్దలు కుదిర్చిన సంబంధమే కదా అని గుడ్డిగా నమ్మవద్దని సూచించారు. పెళ్లికి ముందే ఏకాంతంగా కలవాలని లేదా శారీరక సంబంధానికి ఒత్తిడి చేస్తే తప్పకుండా అనుమానించాలని, ధైర్యంగా తిరస్కరించాలని చెప్పారు.

డబ్బు డిమాండ్ చేసినా, బ్లాక్‌మెయిల్ చేసినా భయపడవద్దని, వెంటనే ఫిర్యాదు చేయాలని ఆయన పిలుపునిచ్చారు. ఇలాంటి ఘటనల్లో బాధితుల వివరాలు పూర్తిగా గోప్యంగా ఉంచుతామని భరోసా ఇచ్చారు.
