IREC 2026 Inaugurated in Hyderabad as India Hosts Global Real Estate Conference for the First Time

Hyderabad, September 26, 2026: The 7th International Real Estate Conference (IREC 2026) was inaugurated at HITEX, Hyderabad, marking the first time the global real estate platform has been hosted in India. The three-day conference, being held from September 25 to 27, has brought together more than 2,000 delegates from over 35 countries, including real estate developers, institutional investors, policymakers, realtors, technology leaders and property professionals.

Hosted by the Hyderabad Realtors Association (HRA), with the National Association of REALTORS® – India (NAR-India) as strategic partner, IREC 2026 brings the Global Conference, Luxury Property Expo and Innovation Showcase together under one platform.

India Housing Report Highlights Major Market Trends

A major highlight of the inaugural day was the launch of the India Housing Report – September 2026, prepared by NAR and CRE Matrix. Based on H1 2026 data, the report provides a pan-India assessment of residential housing trends across Tier-1 markets.

According to the report, primary housing sales across Pan-India Tier-1 cities stood at ₹3.63 lakh crore in H1 2026, remaining broadly flat compared with the record level recorded during H1 2025.

The report recorded 2.58 lakh primary housing units sold, representing a decline of around 2% year-on-year, while new launches increased by approximately 7% to 2.98 lakh units.

The Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) emerged as India’s largest housing market, accounting for approximately 26% of pan-India housing value. MMR was followed by the National Capital Region (NCR), which accounted for around 19%, with MMR recording approximately ₹93,800 crore in primary housing sales.

Navi Mumbai and Raigad recorded the fastest value growth among the markets covered, rising by approximately 29%, while housing volumes increased by around 20%.

Meanwhile, Bengaluru recorded 25% value growth, the strongest among the major markets, taking its share of national housing value to approximately 17%.

The findings point towards a changing residential market, with growth increasingly being driven by transaction volumes and broader market expansion rather than solely by price appreciation.

Global Real Estate Leaders Gather in Hyderabad

IREC 2026 is bringing international perspectives from markets including the United States, Dubai, Philippines, Georgia, Canada, Japan, Mongolia, China, South Korea, Taiwan, Cambodia, Indonesia and Vietnam, among others.

The conference programme focuses on some of the most significant developments shaping the global property sector, including institutional investment, evolving buyer behaviour, branded residences, holiday homes, affordable housing, real estate tokenisation, cross-border transactions and the growing role of PropTech, artificial intelligence, data and DeepTech.

Hyderabad Takes Centre Stage in India’s Real Estate Story

The conference comes at a significant time for Hyderabad, as the city continues to feature prominently in discussions around urban development, technology, investment and India’s evolving real estate landscape.

Speaking at the inauguration, Sumanth Reddy, Chairman, NAR-India, said that changing buyer behaviour, increasingly global capital and technology are reshaping the traditional real estate transaction cycle.

Sreedhar Reddy, Past President, Hyderabad Realtors Association, said hosting IREC in Hyderabad represents an opportunity to place the city within a wider global real estate conversation and ensure that the discussions remain practical and relevant to professionals across markets.

Shailender Singh, Chairman, IREC 2026, highlighted the changing way people view homes, the growing cross-border focus of investors and the opportunities and challenges created by emerging technologies.
