Pink Power Run 3.0 Announced in Hyderabad to Raise Breast Cancer Awareness

The Sudha Reddy Foundation and the MEIL Foundation have jointly announced the third edition of Pink Power Run, an international half-marathon and community fitness initiative aimed at raising critical awareness about breast cancer. Scheduled for September 27, 2026, in Hyderabad, this highly anticipated event is expected to draw more than 20,000 participants from across the globe.

Event Details and Categories

The Pink Power Run 3.0 will feature a professionally certified 21.097-km half-marathon recognized by the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS). To accommodate runners of all fitness levels, the event will also offer:

  • 10-km run
  • 5-km run
  • 3-km fun run

With a substantial total prize pool of Rs 75 lakh and awards for over 100 winners, the upgraded format is designed to attract leading distance runners and international athletes, elevating the event to a world-class sporting spectacle.

More Than Just a Race: A Movement for Health

At the announcement press conference, Sudha Reddy, Founder of the Sudha Reddy Foundation and Director of MEIL, emphasized that the Pink Power Run transcends traditional sporting events.

“The Pink Power Run was intended to go beyond being a sporting event and serve as a reminder of the importance of fitness, preventive healthcare, and early action,” said Sudha Reddy.

Emphasizing the timeless adage that “Health is Wealth,” she noted that a healthy community forms the foundation for creating a stronger, more vibrant economy. The initiative aims to promote overall health while driving critical awareness around breast cancer prevention and early detection.

The Urgent Need: Telangana’s Breast Cancer Crisis

The event’s timing and mission are particularly critical given the current healthcare landscape. Dr. Pragnya Chigurupati, a breast oncosurgeon with 10 years of experience, highlighted alarming statistics at the press conference.

“Telangana currently records the highest incidence of breast cancer cases in the country,” Dr. Chigurupati revealed, stressing the urgent need to expand awareness efforts, particularly across rural and semi-urban areas where access to early detection resources remains limited.

She emphasized that proactive prevention through regular health check-ups is the most vital tool in saving lives, underlining the broader health factors associated with breast cancer.

Miss World 2025 Lends Support

Adding international prestige to the event, Miss World 2025 Opal Suchata Chuangsri graced the announcement ceremony. She called breast cancer awareness a “deeply important cause” that requires strong, driving initiatives like the Pink Power Run to build a healthier community.

“Participating in and supporting the marathon plays a vital role in instilling a lasting sense of health awareness among both the runners and the broader public,” Opal Suchata Chuangsri stated.

Innovative Social Impact: Miles for Mammograms

One of the most inspiring aspects of Pink Power Run 3.0 is its innovative “Miles for Mammograms” initiative, launched in partnership with AIG Hospitals.

Under this groundbreaking program:

  • The cumulative distance covered by all participants will be converted into medical diagnostic support for underprivileged patients.
  • For every 100 km collectively completed, the Sudha Reddy Foundation will sponsor:
    • One free breast cancer screening
    • One free mammogram test

This unique initiative ensures that every step taken by runners directly translates into life-saving healthcare access for those who need it most.

Strategic Impact: Building a Healthier India

The Pink Power Run 3.0 represents a powerful convergence of:

  1. Sports and Fitness: Encouraging physical activity and healthy lifestyles
  2. Healthcare Awareness: Educating the public about breast cancer prevention and early detection
  3. Social Responsibility: Providing free diagnostic services to underprivileged communities
  4. Community Building: Bringing together thousands of individuals for a common cause

Looking Ahead

As Hyderabad prepares to host this momentous event on September 27, the Pink Power Run 3.0 stands as a testament to the power of collective action in addressing critical health challenges. By combining athletic excellence with social impact, the initiative is setting a new benchmark for how sporting events can drive meaningful change.

Whether you’re a professional runner, a fitness enthusiast, or simply someone who believes in the cause, Pink Power Run 3.0 offers an opportunity to be part of something bigger—a movement toward a healthier, more aware, and empowered India.
