Karwan

Karwan is a historic neighborhood located in the western part of Hyderabad, Telangana, India. As part of the old city, it holds significant cultural and historical importance.

Historical Background:

During the Qutb Shahi era (1500s to late 1600s), Karwan served as a commercial hub, especially for moneylenders known as “Sahu,” leading to its earlier name, Sahu Karwan. The area housed numerous shops, storage facilities, and inns for travelers.
