Community Service Initiatives at Dr. M. Channa Reddy Memorial Rock Garden – December 2, 2025

On the occasion of the 29th Death Anniversary of former Chief Minister Dr. Marri Channa Reddy, multiple impactful community service programs were organized at the Dr. M. Channa Reddy Memorial Rock Garden, Indira Park, Hyderabad, bringing together donors, doctors, children, volunteers, and several NGOs in a meaningful celebration of service and humanity.

A Blood Donation Camp, a Free Health & Cancer Screening Camp, and an Art & Painting Session for children were conducted throughout the day, reflecting the values of compassion and public service that Dr. Channa Reddy stood for.

The day began with a peaceful bhajan program at 9:00 AM, followed by floral tributes at 10:00 AM at Dr. Channa Reddy’s samadhi.

🩸 Blood Donation Camp

Organized by the Dr. M. Channa Reddy Memorial Trust in collaboration with Aarohi Blood Bank and the Thalassemia & Sickle Cell Society Blood Bank, the blood donation drive received an inspiring response with 150 donors participating.
This support is especially crucial for children suffering from Thalassemia, who require blood transfusions every 2–3 weeks for survival.
The camp was coordinated by Mr. Krishna Reddy, with the presence of family members and followers of Dr. Channa Reddy, along with volunteers from Badruka College ,AV College NCC & NSS, OBD, Rajmata Foundation, ASWA, Janma Foundation, Yuva Seva, Youth For Seva, STASS, Asya Foundation, and many public participants.

🌿 Free Health & Cancer Screening Camp

The CSR Memorial Foundation, along with Lions Club of Hyderabad Prerana and MNJ Cancer Hospital, organized a large free health camp benefiting around 250 people.
The services included consultations from General Physicians, Gynecologists, Pediatricians, Dental and Eye specialists, ECG, BP, Sugar tests, and Alternative Medicine guidance.
Breast Cancer Screening (Mammography) and Cervical Cancer Screening (Pap Smear) were provided with the support of Ankur Hospital, Renova–NIGL Hospitals, and Lions Eye Hospital Balanagar.
These screenings helped raise awareness on preventive healthcare and early detection.

🎨 Art & Painting Session for Children

As a heartfelt tribute to Dr. Channa Reddy, an Art & Painting Session was organized by APSA Foundation with support from CSR Memorial Foundation.
Around 40 children participated enthusiastically under the guidance of the APSA “Atharapu” team and Shri Krishna Reddy garu, expressing their creativity through colors and drawings.
This initiative encouraged young minds to celebrate art, learning, and the inspirational legacy of Dr. Channa Reddy.

Across all three events, hundreds of participants—including donors, doctors, volunteers, NGOs, and children—came together with great enthusiasm.
The collective efforts made the day a memorable and impactful tribute to Dr. Marri Channa Reddy’s vision of serving society with dedication and compassion.

Record 28,300 Runners Participate in NMDC Hyderabad Marathon 2025

Hyderabad, August 25, 2025: The 14th edition of the NMDC Hyderabad Marathon 2025, powered by IDFC FIRST Bank, witnessed a historic turnout with 28,300 runners, marking it as one of India’s largest and most celebrated community sporting events.

The marathon, held on Sunday, featured three race categories—Full Marathon, Half Marathon, and 10K—all concluding at Gachibowli, officially kicking off India’s marathon season.

Dignitaries & Flag-off

The event saw enthusiastic participation with flag-offs led by Avinash Mohanty, Commissioner of Police, Cyberabad, and D Joel Davis, Joint Commissioner of Police, Traffic, Hyderabad City, for the 10K and Full Marathon respectively.

Corporate & Community Participation

  • Dr. Reddy’s registered 701 runners, the highest by any single corporate.
  • Aptar was recognised for an impressive 46% women’s participation.
  • Arcesium, donating ₹30 lakh, was awarded Top Corporate Charity Donor.

Elite Athlete Competition

The marathon attracted 56 elite international athletes from Kenya, Ethiopia, and India, cementing its place as India’s second-largest World Athletics Basic Label certified marathon.

A new course record was set in the Men’s Elite category, with winners receiving both international and Indian prize money:

  • Full Marathon (Elite) – $6,000 / $3,000 / $2,000 (International) & ₹3 lakh / ₹2.5 lakh / ₹2 lakh (Indian).
  • Half Marathon (Top 3) – ₹50,000 / ₹40,000 / ₹30,000.
  • 10K Race (Top 3) – ₹25,000 / ₹20,000 / ₹15,000.
  • Bonus – ₹1.5 lakh for breaking the course record.
  • Total Prize Pool – ₹48.55 lakh.

Charity Impact

The event raised ₹1.4 crore for 29 charity partners and NGOs, with a fundraising target of ₹3 crore by September 15, 2025.

With record participation, elite competition, and significant charity contributions, the NMDC Hyderabad Marathon 2025 has once again proven to be more than just a race—emerging as a model for purpose-driven sports events in India.
