Grand Kama Dahanam Celebrated at CSK Villas
Holika Dahan Program Organised Under CSK Villas Welfare Association
A grand Holika Dahan and Kama Dahanam program was conducted with devotion at CSK Villas on the eve of the Holi festival under the aegis of the CSK Villas Welfare Association.
Members of the Welfare Association Committee along with women residents of the colony actively participated in the event and performed special prayers with religious fervor before conducting the Kama Dahanam ritual.
Speaking on the occasion, the organizers stated that Holi is one of the most important festivals in India, celebrated with great joy and enthusiasm by people of all ages by smearing colors and sprinkling colored water on one another. As per tradition, Holika Dahan and Kama Dahanam are performed on the day preceding Holi.
They explained that according to ancient legends, Hiranyakashipu’s sister Holika attempted to burn Prahlada in fire. However, by divine grace, Prahlada, an ardent devotee of Lord Vishnu, emerged unharmed, while Holika was burnt to ashes. This event symbolizes the victory of righteousness over evil and is commemorated every year through Holika Dahan.
