You Can Save a Life — Learn CPR

Be a Heart Hero

A medical emergency can strike anytime, anywhere.

When sudden cardiac arrest happens, the first responder is often not a doctor — it’s you. This free Community Hands‑Only CPR Training is designed to empower everyday citizens with simple, life‑saving skills that can make the difference between life and death.

About the Program

The Community Hands‑Only CPR Training Program is an awareness‑driven, hands‑on initiative organized by the Gandhi Medical College Alumni Association, in association with Janahitha Seva Trust.

The program focuses on equipping the general public with practical knowledge of:

  • Recognizing sudden cardiac arrest
  • Performing effective hands‑only CPR
  • Acting confidently until professional medical help arrives

No prior medical knowledge is required.

Why Learn CPR?

  • Sudden cardiac arrest can occur at home, at work, or in public places
  • A majority of cardiac arrest victims collapse before reaching a hospital
  • Immediate CPR can significantly improve survival rates
  • Early bystander response saves lives

Learning CPR turns awareness into action — and compassion into competence.

  • Correct hand placement and chest compression technique
  • When and how to seek emergency help
  • Introduction to Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs)

This is a hands‑on community awareness session, designed to build confidence and readiness.
