The Yagam is conducted mainly to overcome the eight main forms of human distress and bring overall prosperity in a divine way in 36 Homa Kundas and facilitates the direct participation of 112 devotees in each Yagam. Goddess Durga’s nine forms are worshiped in three days with great devotion during the Nava Durga Yagam. Goddess Durga is a symbol of combined masculine power and feminine cosmic force.
