Free CPR Training on February 1st and 2nd-2026

Dr. G. R. Lingamurthy, President of the Gandhi Medical College (GMC) Alumni Association, said that if a person suffers a heart attack in front of our eyes, their life can be saved by immediately performing Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).

He was speaking at a media conference organized on Tuesday at the GMC Alumni Education Center. GMC Alumni Director Dr. P. Maheshwar Reddy, Dr. S. Ravinder, and Janahitha Seva Trust Managing Trustee S. Narasimha Murthy were also present and spoke on the occasion.

They stated that under the joint auspices of the Gandhi Medical College Alumni Association, GMC Global Alliance, and Janahitha Seva Trust, a free two-day Community CPR training camp is being organized for the general public on February 1st and 2nd at the Alumni Education Center, Gandhi Medical College.

They said that for the past 26 years, thousands of people have been provided with free CPR training through the Alumni Association.

They noted that in India, 92 percent of people die due to cardiac arrest caused by heart attacks.

They emphasized that awareness of CPR techniques can help save a life, whether at home or outside. With this objective, they announced that 5,000 people will be given free training during the two-day camp.

They further explained that participants will be taught hands-on CPR using mannequins, and certificates will also be awarded to all trainees.

They invited all interested city residents to attend and learn CPR free of cost.

మంగళవారం గాంధీ మెడికల్ కాలేజీ అలుమ్ని ఎడ్యుకేషన్ సెంటర్‌లో నిర్వహించిన మీడియా సమావేశంలో ఆయన మాట్లాడారు. ఈ సమావేశంలో అలుమ్ని డైరెక్టర్ డాక్టర్ పి. మహేశ్వర్ రెడ్డి, డాక్టర్ ఎస్. రవీందర్, జనహిత సేవా ట్రస్ట్ మేనేజింగ్ ట్రస్టీ ఎస్. నర్సింహమూర్తి పాల్గొన్నారు.

గాంధీ మెడికల్ కాలేజీ అలుమ్ని అసోసియేషన్, జీఎంసీ గ్లోబల్ అలయన్స్, జనహిత సేవా ట్రస్ట్ సంయుక్త ఆధ్వర్యంలో సాధారణ పౌరుల కోసం ఫిబ్రవరి 1 మరియు 2 తేదీల్లో గాంధీ మెడికల్ కాలేజీ లోని అలుమ్ని ఎడ్యుకేషన్ సెంటర్‌లో కమ్యూనిటీ సీపీఆర్‌పై రెండు రోజుల ఉచిత శిక్షణ శిబిరం నిర్వహిస్తున్నట్లు తెలిపారు.

గత 26 ఏళ్లుగా అలుమ్ని అసోసియేషన్ ద్వారా వేలాది మందికి సీపీఆర్‌పై ఉచిత శిక్షణ అందిస్తున్నామని చెప్పారు. దేశంలో 92 శాతం మంది కార్డియాక్ అరెస్ట్ కారణంగా ప్రాణాలు కోల్పోతున్నారని ఆందోళన వ్యక్తం చేశారు.

సీపీఆర్ చేసే విధానంపై అవగాహన ఉంటే ఇంట్లో గానీ, బయట గానీ అత్యవసర పరిస్థితుల్లో ఒకరి ప్రాణాన్ని కాపాడవచ్చని వారు పేర్కొన్నారు. ఈ ఉద్దేశంతో ఈ రెండు రోజుల శిబిరంలో 5,000 మందికి ఉచిత శిక్షణ అందించనున్నట్లు తెలిపారు.

ప్రతి పాల్గొనేవారికి బొమ్మల (మానికిన్స్) సహాయంతో ప్రత్యక్షంగా సీపీఆర్ చేసే విధానం నేర్పించి, శిక్షణ పూర్తయిన అనంతరం సర్టిఫికెట్లు కూడా అందజేస్తామని తెలిపారు.

నగరంలోని ఆసక్తి గల పౌరులు ఎవరైనా ఈ అవకాశాన్ని వినియోగించుకుని ఉచితంగా సీపీఆర్ శిక్షణ పొందవచ్చని నిర్వాహకులు విజ్ఞప్తి చేశారు.
