Embade Ramesh Wins Pulimamidi Sarpanch Election with Thumping Majority

Embade Ramesh registered a resounding victory in the Pulimamidi village Sarpanch elections held under Kandukur mandal, winning with a clear majority of 154 votes and earning the strong trust and confidence of the people.

The elections, conducted on December 15, saw a large voter turnout, with villagers extending overwhelming support to Embade Ramesh. Soon after the results were announced, celebrations broke out across the village. Supporters, local leaders, and villagers congratulated the newly elected Sarpanch by garlanding him with flowers.

Speaking on the occasion, Embade Ramesh expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the voters for placing their faith in him. He assured that he would work tirelessly for the overall development of Pulimamidi village, focusing on strengthening basic infrastructure and ensuring effective implementation of welfare schemes. He emphasized that progress would be achieved with the cooperation of all villagers.

Hyderabad: With memories of violence during football legend Lionel Messi’s programme in Kolkata still fresh, the Hyderabad police have issued a stern warning of stringent action against any misconduct during Messi’s appearance at the city stadium. To ensure smooth conduct, officials have released a detailed minute-by-minute schedule of the evening’s events.

Messi is scheduled to enter the stadium at 7.50 p.m., coinciding with the kick-off of the match. Shortly thereafter, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi will enter the pitch, followed by Messi and football stars Rodrigo De Paul and Luis Suarez. The dignitaries and players will take a parade walk around the stadium, acknowledging fans, before assembling on a specially erected stage for formal introductions.

At 8.11 p.m., Messi and the Chief Minister will symbolically dribble the ball together, followed by a closely watched penalty shootout—three shots per team—to decide the winner of the specially instituted GOAT Cup.

Rahul Gandhi will then join the dignitaries, players and children for a group photograph. Raj Bhavan Calls for Nominations for Governor’s Awards for Excellence 2025

Hyderabad: Raj Bhavan has invited nominations for the Governor’s Awards for Excellence – 2025, aimed at honouring exemplary contributions made between 2020 and 2025 in key sectors of public welfare and development.

The awards will recognise outstanding work in four categories Women Empowerment , Tribal Development, Rural Health and Medical Philanthropy, and Corporate Volunteering. Each category features two segments: one for individuals and another for institutions, organisations, societies, or trusts.

According to the announcement, the last date to submit nominations is December 5, 2025, by 5 PM. The awards will be conferred on January 26, 2026, during Republic Day celebrations, by the Hon’ble Governor of Telangana.

Protest Against Proposed Thumkunta Municipality Dump Yard at Bommarasipet–Ponnal – November 6, 2025

For the past three years, residents and landowners in our region have been united in their struggle for fair development and sustainable growth. Now, a new and serious threat has emerged — the proposed shifting of the Thumkunta Municipality waste dump yard from Jawaharnagar to Bommarasipet/Ponnal (near the crusher area adjacent to our lands).

If this proposal is approved, it will drastically reduce the value of our lands, wiping out all the positive impact expected from upcoming infrastructure projects such as:

  • Metro Extension up to ORR
  • Elevated Corridor Project
  • Ongoing developments along the Outer Ring Road

These major projects were supposed to boost the region’s growth potential, but the dump yard plan could nullify all progress and cause serious environmental and health concerns for nearby villages.

To oppose this decision, our friends and farmers from Bommarasipet and Ponnal villages are organizing a protest today at 10:30 AM at the Collector’s Office. Their goal is to prevent approval of this harmful proposal.

We urge all affected landowners and residents to stand together and join the protest as equal stakeholders. This is our chance to show unity and protect the future of our area before it’s too late.

Mobile Phone Deposit Facility for Voters at Jubilee Hills Polling Stations on Nov 11

Voters in the Jubilee Hills Assembly constituency heading to the polls on November 11 will be able to safely deposit their mobile phones before entering polling stations. The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) Election Wing is setting up secure mobile phone deposit centres outside all polling stations, in line with Election Commission of India (ECI) guidelines.

The facility aims to assist voters, particularly senior citizens and women, ensuring convenience and security on polling day.

A senior GHMC official deputed for the bypoll said that voters must switch off their mobile phones before entering the polling station and hand them over to volunteers stationed at the mobile phone deposit counters.

Voters will receive a token in exchange for their phone, which they can use to reclaim it after casting their vote and exiting the polling station.

The GHMC has assured that adequate staff and security measures will be in place to manage the process smoothly and prevent any inconvenience to the public.

The initiative is part of the civic body’s broader efforts to ensure a transparent, orderly, and voter-friendly polling experience in Jubilee Hills during the by-election.

Training held for poll officers ahead of Jubilee Hills by-election

In preparation for the upcoming Jubilee Hills Assembly by-election, the Hyderabad District Election Officer (DEO) and GHMC Commissioner R V Karnan emphasised the crucial role of Presiding Officers (POs) and Assistant Presiding Officers (APOs) in ensuring a free, fair and transparent polling process.

Addressing officials at a training session held at G. Narayanamma Institute of Technology and Science, Shaikpet, Karnan said all polling staff must have a clear understanding of their duties and responsibilities and should discharge them with complete neutrality and integrity.

Nearly 500 officials attended the session conducted in two batches. The training included hands-on demonstrations on the use of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs)—Ballot Units (BUs), Control Units (CUs), and VVPAT systems.

The DEO instructed that each polling station would be equipped with four BUs, one CU and one VVPAT, given that 59 candidates, including NOTA, are contesting in the by-poll. He urged officers to thoroughly study the Presiding Officer’s Handbook issued by the Election Commission of India (ECI) and prepare checklists for polling-day activities, including verification of materials, voter lists and machines.

Election Police Observer Om Prakash Tripathi and Expenditure Observer Sanjeev Kumar Lal inspected the training and advised officials to adhere strictly to ECI guidelines to maintain transparency and credibility in the electoral process.

Jubilee Hills Byepoll Date Announced, Election Code Comes into Force in Hyderabad- 11-November-2025

Hyderabad | October 7, 2025 — The Model Code of Conduct came into effect in Hyderabad district on October 6, following the announcement of the Jubilee Hills Assembly by-election, which will be held on November 11.

The bye-election was necessitated by the death of sitting MLA Maganti Gopinath of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) in June this year. The BRS has nominated his wife, Maganti Sunitha, as its candidate. The Congress and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) are yet to announce their nominees.

Telangana Chief Electoral Officer C. Sudharshan Reddy stated that all necessary arrangements are being made to ensure a free, fair, and peaceful election. The Election Commission has also directed all parties and candidates to disclose any criminal antecedents through newspapers, television, and digital platforms.

The official election notification will be issued on October 13.

Hyderabad District Returning Officer R.V. Karnan, who also serves as GHMC Commissioner, announced that new voters may register within 10 days of the notification. He confirmed that the Model Code of Conduct is now in effect across Hyderabad district.

Voting will be conducted using Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) systems across all polling stations. Adequate numbers of EVMs have been tested and deployed to ensure smooth polling operations.

Voters can present their EPIC (Voter ID) or any other approved identification document such as Aadhaar, Driving Licence, Passport, PAN Card, or Pension ID. The CEO urged all citizens to verify their names on the electoral rolls and participate actively in the democratic process.

As per the final electoral roll published last week, the Jubilee Hills constituency has 3,99,000 voters — including 2,07,382 males, 1,91,593 females, and 25 third-gender voters. This marks a 3.49% increase from the 3,85,287 voters registered during the 2023 Assembly elections.

Polling will be held across 407 polling stations spread across 139 locations in the constituency.

In the 2023 Assembly elections, BRS candidate Maganti Gopinath scored a hat-trick victory, defeating former Indian cricket captain and Congress candidate Mohammed Azharuddin by 16,337 votes. Gopinath secured 80,549 votes, while Azharuddin polled 64,212. BJP’s L. Deepak Reddy finished third with 25,866 votes, and AIMIM’s candidate came fourth with 7,848 votes.
