Sri Chinna Srimannarayana Ramanuja Jeeyar Swamy’s Spiritual Programs Successfully Concluded at Vidyanagar, Bhuvanagiri – 26th October 2025

With the divine grace of Sri Goda Devi and the blessings of Sri Ramanuja Acharya, the special spiritual programs organized at Sri Goda Sri Krishna Seva Mandir, Vidyanagar, Bhuvanagiri, Yadadri District, Telangana, from 23rd to 26th October 2025, were successfully and blissfully completed.

The event was graced by Sri U.Ve. Sriman S.V.K. Srinivasa Raghavacharya Swamy (D.D.D. Asmad Acharya Purvashrama) along with his Mangalashasanams, under the auspicious presence of Sri Sri Sri Tridandi Chinna Srimannarayana Ramanuja Jeeyar Swamy.

On 25th October 2025 (Saturday) at 5:00 PM, the Purnahuti and Swagata Asirvachanam were conducted with great devotion. The next day, 26th October 2025, featured a Shanthi Mantram, Vishwaksena Nama Sankirtana, and concluding rituals, marking the successful completion of this spiritual festival.

HMWSSB’s CGM (RTD) Shri Soma Jagan Mohan Reddy Wins Five Gold Medals at 7th National Master Aquatic Championship 2025

Hyderabad, October 2025 — HMWSSB takes immense pride in congratulating Shri Soma Jagan Mohan Reddy, Chief General Manager (Retd.), for his remarkable performance at the 7th National Masters Aquatic Championship 2025, held on 11th & 12th October 2025 at Guntur, Andhra Pradesh.

Showcasing exceptional skill and endurance, Shri Jagan Mohan Reddy secured five gold medals across multiple events:

Hyderabad Police Chief Condemns Drunk Driving as ‘Terrorism’ After Deadly Bus Fire in Kurnool

HYDERABAD / KURNOOL — In the wake of a devastating bus fire in Kurnool district, Andhra Pradesh, which claimed at least 20 lives, V.C. Sajjanar, Commissioner of Police in Hyderabad, has issued a sharp condemnation of drunk driving, calling those who drive under the influence “terrorists”.

The incident involved a private sleeper bus travelling from Hyderabad to Bengaluru, which collided with a motorcycle on the highway in the early hours of Friday. The bike, ridden by a man under the influence of alcohol, was reportedly dragged by the bus before his vehicle’s fuel tank ignited, setting off the fire that engulfed the bus and killed the passengers. 

In a post on the social media platform X, Mr Sajjanar said: “Drunk drivers are terrorists. Period. Drunk drivers are terrorists and their actions are nothing short of acts of terror on our roads.” He described the Kurnool tragedy not as a mere accident but as “a criminal act of negligence that annihilated entire families within seconds.”

He emphasised that under his jurisdiction there will be no leniency or exception for those caught driving while intoxicated. “Every single person caught driving under the influence will face the full force of law. There will be no mercy for those who endanger innocent lives,” he said.

Investigators have since confirmed that the motorcyclist was driving while drunk and had earlier refuelled his bike just minutes before the crash. The bike’s headlight was found to be non-functional and the rider lost control before the fatal collision.

The bus driver has been arrested in connection with the incident and further investigations are underway into the sequence of events that triggered the blaze

This tragedy has reignited calls for stricter enforcement of laws against driving under the influence and stricter penalties for those who risk public safety on the roads.

Murrah Bulls from Haryana to Steal the Spotlight at Hyderabad’s Sadar Sammelan

Hyderabad, Telangana | October 17, 2025 — The vibrant streets of Hyderabad are gearing up for one of the most awaited post-Diwali celebrations — the Sadar Sammelan, also known as Dunnapothula Panduga. This year, the spotlight will shine brightly on a special attraction: Murrah bulls from Haryana, famed for their strength, size, and majestic presence.

These elite bulls, bred in Haryana and known for their remarkable physique and high milk yield, have arrived in Telangana to participate in the grand cattle parade. Diwali Fest – Traditional Games Celebration-18-oct-2025

The Diwali Fest – Traditional Games event, organized by Mr. Krishna Reddy, brought together children and senior citizens to relive the joy of traditional Indian games and childhood memories.

As part of the “Back to the Roots” initiative, the event beautifully revived age-old games such as Ashta Chamma, Pallankuzhi (Palli Meka), Carrom, Spinning Tops, and more — creating a nostalgic and joyful atmosphere.

Children enthusiastically learned how these games were once played, while elders cherished their memories from the good old days. The air was filled with laughter, fun, and togetherness as every generation connected through play.

The celebration concluded on a spiritual and festive note by lighting Diwali diyas (lamps) and kakara vattulu, symbolizing light, positivity, and the essence of tradition.

Traditional Art Showcase at IIT Hyderabad (5th – 8th October)-2025

As part of the cultural events hosted at IIT Hyderabad from 5th to 8th October, we were delighted to present a curated show of Koyya Bommalata, the traditional string puppet theatre of Telangana. The performance offered delegates an immersive experience of this age-old storytelling art form, blending folklore, music, and craftsmanship.

In addition to the performance, we also conducted a hands-on workshop on Cheriyal Mask Painting, introducing participants to the unique art tradition of Telangana. Attendees explored the process of painting with natural colours, learning the intricate techniques that go into creating these expressive masks.

The event aimed to celebrate and preserve India’s rich cultural heritage while providing participants with an opportunity to engage directly with traditional artisans and practices.

First science centre for slum students-October 11, 2025

Will cater to students of govt schools from Class VI to SSC

The city’s first science centre exclusively for students from Class VI to SSC in government schools within slum areas is all set for inauguration.

The Sir CV Raman Akshaya Vidya Science Centre is being established in collaboration between the Secunderabad Cantonment Board (SCB) and city-based NGO Akshaya Vidya Foundation, at a decades-old government school at Tadbun Colony.

SCB Chief Executive Officer, D. Madhukar Naik, provided the school building and land on lease. Varaprasad Tentu, founder chairman of Akshaya Vidya Bhavan, said they converted the classrooms into science labs and equipped them with lab material related to science and technology.

Typically, children in government schools, especially in urban slums, lack exposure to science labs and opportunities for practical experiments.

“This science centre will give a boost to ideas among the children. We are appointing trained instructors to guide the students through practical experiments,” Varaprasad said.

The foundation invested ₹1.5 crore in renovating the school building and adding paintings that reflect science and technology themes. Even the walls of the classrooms are painted with science-oriented themes.

Varaprasad explained that the city-based NGO Akshaya Vidya Foundation aims to provide better education opportunities to children from poor and illiterate families who cannot afford to send their children to corporate schools.

“Children studying in government schools often do not have access to science labs and the new centre seeks to fill that gap,” he added.

They have identified nearly 15 government schools within a 15 km radius in Secunderabad Cantonment to send the children to the science centre.

The new centre is being planned to be inaugurated by President Droupadi Murmu, who will be visiting the city in December as part of her southern sojourn.

Decades-old government school turned into a science centre

Penathia, a retired army havildar and resident of Tadbun Colony, said the government school where the science centre is coming up was operating for the past five decades with around 100 children.

“But the school’s strength dropped to 20 after parents enrolled their children in local corporate schools. Parents are also reluctant to send their children as they have to cross the National Highway-44, one of the busiest roads in the Cantonment. Thus, the school’s strength dropped,” he said.

A senior SCB official said the school building has served as a polling station for more than five decades.

“With the school not functional, we have allotted it to an NGO to set up a Science Centre, which is more useful for the students studying in slum schools,” the official added.
