Hyderabad Doctors Relieve Severe Scrotal Pain Using Advanced Cryoablation Therapy Without Surgery

KIMS Hospitals doctors have successfully treated a 51-year-old patient from Hyderabad suffering from severe chronic scrotal pain through an advanced minimally invasive procedure called cryoablation therapy, avoiding the need for surgery.

The medical team at KIMS Hospitals announced on Thursday that the patient had been experiencing intense testicular pain for nearly eight months, which severely affected his daily life. According to doctors, the patient struggled with basic activities such as sitting, standing, and even lying down due to constant discomfort and pain.

The breakthrough treatment was performed by interventional pain specialist Dr. Anusha Karumuri using state-of-the-art cryoablation technology. The procedure involved a minimally invasive needle-based technique that precisely targeted the source of the pain.

Using ultrasound guidance, Dr. Anusha carefully identified the exact nerve area responsible for transmitting the pain signals. A thin needle was then inserted into the affected region, through which extremely cold gas was delivered to temporarily disable the pain-transmitting nerve cells.

Doctors said the patient experienced immediate pain relief following the procedure, significantly improving his quality of life without undergoing conventional surgery.

Explaining the treatment, Dr. Anusha Karumuri said,
“The treatment does not require surgery and can be completed in a short duration. It offers long-term relief with minimal discomfort.”

Cryoablation is increasingly being used worldwide as an advanced pain management technique for patients suffering from chronic pain conditions. The procedure is considered safer and less invasive compared to traditional surgeries, with faster recovery times and minimal complications.

Medical experts at KIMS Hospitals highlighted that cryoablation therapy is not limited to scrotal pain alone. The same technology can also be effectively used to treat several other chronic pain conditions affecting different parts of the body, including nerve-related pain and certain musculoskeletal disorders.

The successful treatment showcases the growing role of advanced interventional pain management techniques in modern healthcare and demonstrates how minimally invasive procedures are helping patients avoid major surgeries while achieving long-term relief.

Healthcare experts believe such innovations are transforming pain treatment by offering patients safer, faster, and more effective alternatives with reduced recovery periods.

The achievement also highlights Hyderabad’s growing reputation as a hub for advanced medical technology and specialized healthcare services in India.
