Summer Holidays Extended for Schools in TelanganaSchools to Reopen on June 15 Instead of June 12

Hyderabad: The Telangana School Education Department has extended the summer holidays for all government and private schools across the state. As per the revised schedule, schools that were originally set to reopen on June 12, 2026, will now resume classes on June 15, 2026.

The decision was taken after the government received representations from various stakeholders requesting a change in the reopening date. Since June 13 and June 14 fall on the Second Saturday and Sunday, respectively, the government felt it would be more practical to reopen schools on Monday, June 15.

📌 Working Day Announced to Compensate for Lost Academic Time

To ensure that the prescribed instructional days in the Academic Calendar 2026–27 are maintained, the School Education Department has declared July 11 (Second Saturday) as a regular working day for all government and private schools across Telangana.

🎓 Applies to All Schools in Telangana

The revised schedule applies to all schools under the School Education Department. Regional Joint Directors and District Educational Officers have been instructed to communicate the updated reopening date and working day schedule to all schools under their jurisdiction.

The move is expected to provide a smoother transition into the new academic year while ensuring that academic activities remain on track.
