The Indian School of Business (ISB), Hyderabad, has launched the PGP Class of 2015 Startup Fellowship to provide financial support to student entrepreneurs. The initiative will offer an annual grant to an eligible student or a student-led team from the ongoing Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGP) batch to help them turn business ideas into startups.
The fellowship will be implemented through ISPROUTE, ISB’s pre-incubation programme, which supports aspiring entrepreneurs in developing and advancing their business ideas.
Speaking about the initiative, ISB Dean Madan Pillutla said the fellowship reflects the strength of the institution’s alumni community and its commitment to supporting future entrepreneurs. He added that early-stage assistance through ISPROUTE would enable student founders to pursue promising ideas and advance their ventures.
ISB Startup Fellowship: Funding and Endowment
The fellowship will be funded through the PGP Class of 2015 Startup Endowment Fund, established by the Hyderabad cohort of the PGP Class of 2015. ISB will also contribute additional funds to the endowment to ensure that financial assistance can be provided annually.
Anchana C, a member of the PGP Class of 2015, said the initiative was a way for alumni to pass on the confidence and support they received during their time at ISB. The fellowship is intended to help a student entrepreneur take the initial steps towards building a business with the backing of ISB’s entrepreneurial ecosystem.
The memorandum of understanding (MoU) for the fellowship was signed by the ISB Dean and representatives of the PGP Class of 2015 Hyderabad cohort.
Supporting the Next Generation of Entrepreneurs
Through this initiative, ISB aims to encourage students to pursue entrepreneurship and develop their business ideas into viable ventures. The fellowship will provide early-stage financial assistance and access to the institution’s entrepreneurial ecosystem, helping student founders take their first steps towards establishing startups.
The initiative also highlights the role of alumni contributions in supporting entrepreneurship and strengthening the startup ecosystem within business schools.
