Telangana Weather Forecast: Rainfall to Ease Sharply on August 27, 2026

HYDERABAD – Residents of Telangana can expect a significant break from recent wet weather, as rainfall activity across the state is forecasted to ease sharply starting August 27, 2026.

According to the latest meteorological updates, the heavy rains that have been affecting the region will weaken considerably, bringing much-needed relief and clearer skies to most parts of the state.

District-Wise Forecast for August 27
While the overall trend points toward drier conditions, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicts isolated to scattered short spells of rain in specific pockets:

West and South Telangana (Afternoon to Evening): Limited rainfall is expected in districts including Vikarabad, Sangareddy, Kamareddy, Medak, Rangareddy, Mahabubnagar, Wanaparthy, Jogulamba Gadwal, Nagarkurnool, and Nalgonda.
Northern Telangana (Midnight to Early Morning): A few brief, short spells of rain may occur in Kumaram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Peddapalli, Jayashankar Bhupalapally, and Mulugu. However, the overall rainfall in these northern districts will remain very limited.
Hyderabad: The twin cities may experience passing, light showers at a few places from the afternoon through the night, but no heavy downpours are anticipated.

No Official Weather Warnings
Providing further reassurance to the public, the India Meteorological Department’s (IMD) Telangana warning page has issued no weather warnings (Yellow, Orange, or Red) for the state on August 27.

The IMD’s broader national forecast also indicates that while isolated to scattered rainfall may persist across Telangana between August 26 and September 1, the intensity will remain low, and no severe weather events are expected.

What This Means for Residents Commuters: Travel conditions will largely improve, though drivers should still exercise mild caution during brief afternoon or evening showers in the mentioned districts.
Agriculture: The scattered, light rainfall will provide adequate soil moisture without causing waterlogging or crop damage in the western and southern agricultural belts.
Daily Life: With the sharp decline in rainfall intensity, outdoor activities, events, and daily commutes are expected to proceed with minimal disruption.

Residents are advised to stay updated with local IMD bulletins for any last-minute changes, but the outlook for August 27 remains largely dry and manageable across Telangana.

CEO Telangana Reviews Voter Mapping Under SIR in Hyderabad

In a decisive move to strengthen electoral rolls across the state, Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Telangana, C. Sudharsan Reddy, held a video conference on Monday with all District Election Officers (DEOs) and Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) to review the progress of voter mapping under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process.

The meeting, held at the CEO office in Hyderabad, focused on accelerating the mapping exercise – especially in urban pockets – with a firm deadline to complete the process by the end of this month.

🎯 Focus on Urban Areas & Migrant Populations

The CEO issued specific instructions to the GHMC Commissioner & DEO Hyderabad, along with the Collectors and DEOs of Rangareddy and Medchal Malkajgiri districts, to prepare a special strategy for urban areas. These districts, he noted, require focused attention due to their high migrant population, which makes voter mapping more complex.

👩 Key Directive: Map Young Women Voters with Parents

In a notable step to improve database accuracy, Sudharsan Reddy instructed officials to map women voters below 40 years of age with their parents. This measure, he explained, would help remove errors and create a more reliable voter roll.

🏘️ Involve RWAs, Gated Communities & Slum Areas

The CEO urged district officials to actively involve Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs) and gated communities in the mapping exercise. He also directed that all government employees should voluntarily complete mapping through their concerned Booth Level Officers (BLOs) , whose contact details are available on the Telangana CEO website.

Additionally, EROs, AEROs, BLO Supervisors, and BLOs were instructed to visit both gated communities and slum areas, working alongside local representatives to ensure a smooth process.

📢 Awareness Drives & Help Desks

To boost public participation, the CEO asked DEOs to launch wide awareness drives under SVEEP (Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation) activities. He emphasized that public campaigns would help citizens understand the importance of voter mapping.

Furthermore, he ordered the setup of help desks at DEO, ERO, and AERO offices to assist voters with queries and mapping support. Officials were also told to make regular field visits to pending areas.
