Hyderabad Emerges as a Major Frontier AI Computing Hub as AMI Orders 9,000 NVIDIA Rubin GPUs

Hyderabad is set to take a major step forward in the global artificial intelligence and advanced computing landscape.

AMI Intelligence, an infrastructure platform established by the promoters of Greenko, has placed a binding order for 9,000 NVIDIA Rubin GPUs for its first AI factory in Hyderabad. The company announced the order on August 25, 2026, describing the project as a major milestone in its plans to build large-scale AI computing infrastructure.

The 9,000 next-generation GPUs are planned to be deployed as NVIDIA Vera Rubin NVL72 systems at AMI’s 30 MW AI computing facility in Hyderabad. The deployment is targeted for the first quarter of 2027.

According to AMI, the Hyderabad facility is expected to become one of Asia’s first frontier AI computing clusters based on the NVIDIA Vera Rubin platform, placing the city at the centre of the rapidly expanding AI infrastructure ecosystem.

🇮🇳 Hyderabad’s Growing AI Ambitions

The project is significant not only for AMI but also for Hyderabad and Telangana, which have been emerging as important destinations for technology companies, data centres, cloud infrastructure and artificial intelligence.

The new facility will represent the first tranche of AMI’s planned 1 GW of Compute-as-a-Service capacity, which the company intends to develop across India, the United States, Finland and Malaysia.

AMI said it plans to bring 200 MW of computing capacity to market in the near term, backed by more than US$8 billion in planned capital expenditure.

The scale of the proposed investment highlights the growing demand for high-performance computing infrastructure required to support the next generation of AI models, enterprise applications, cloud services and other computationally intensive technologies.
