Telangana’s new CM changes Police Commissioners of Hyderabad, Cyberabad, Rachakonda

The shuffling of top police officers in Telangana State by the new Telangana government headed by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy began on Tuesday with the transfer of all three Police Commissioners of Hyderabad, Cyberabad, and Rachakonda located in the capital city. 

While Hyderabad CP Sandeep Shandilya was transferred and posted as State Anti-Narcotics Bureau Director, the CPs of Cyberabad and Rachakonda, Stephen Ravindra and Devendra Singh Chauhan, respectively, were directed to report at the DGP office.

Kothakota Sreenivasa Reddy, presently serving as Additional DGP (Organisations and Legal), is appointed the new CP of Hyderabad. Cyberabad Joint Commissioner of Police (Administration) Avinash Mohanty is the new CP of Cyberabad. Hyderabad Police Additional Commissioner (Traffic) G. Sudheer Babu is posted as CP of Rachakonda.

Earlier, the CM posted senior IPS officer B. Shivadhar Reddy as the intelligence chief, replacing Anil Kumar. This was the first change made by the CM soon after assuming charge as Chief Minister.

In the past week, Hyderabad experienced an extraordinary spell of heavy rainfall, completely transforming the weather from dry to wet and alleviating the previously lacking rainfall situation.

The recorded rainfall in July surpassed the usual expectations, skyrocketing past the deficient mark and pushing Hyderabad into the large excess rainfall category. Typically, the city receives around 279.1 mm of rainfall during July. However, this year, the rain gods were exceptionally generous, blessing Hyderabad with a remarkable 388.9 mm of rainfall.

As the rain poured down, umbrellas became a common sight, and while it caused some inconvenience, the downpour brought a much-needed sense of relief to the people. Despite a few minor water-logging issues, the city’s infrastructure proved resilient in the face of heavy rainfall. The meteorological department had initially predicted a normal monsoon season, but the recent downpours have far exceeded expectations.

Strategically located near the PVNR Expressway and in close proximity to the Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University (PJTSAU), this township will mark Prestige Group’s foray into Hyderabad, following its successful projects in Bengaluru and Mumbai.

Venkat K Narayana, CEO of Prestige Group, expressed his excitement about the venture, citing the promising performance of the real estate sector in Hyderabad as a motivating factor for this new project. The launch of Prestige City Hyderabad is scheduled for the next couple of months.

Sprawling over 64 acres, Prestige City Hyderabad will consist of 4,647 apartments across 13 towers, covering 9.5 million sq. ft, and 119 villas spanning 0.8 million sq. ft. One of the notable features of the project is the addition of a retail mall within the township, covering one million sq. ft, providing residents with a wide array of amenities and conveniences.

The Prestige Group is a prominent player in the Indian real estate market, with a strong presence in major cities. With a portfolio of 280 completed projects in 12 cities, the group showcases its expertise in diverse real estate segments, including residential, commercial, retail, leisure, and hospitality.

Presently, the Prestige Group is engaged in eight projects in Hyderabad, located in areas such as Nanakramguda, Khanapur, Hitec City, Kokapet, Shamshabad, and Rajendra Nagar. Additionally, the group is gearing up to introduce a sprawling 3 million sq. ft office space in Nanakramguda.

Green Ganesha

Green Ganesha, also known as Eco-friendly Ganesha or Clay Ganesha, refers to the practice of making Lord Ganesha idols using environmentally friendly materials.
